A Star at 19 –
Debbie Reynolds as she will look in “I Love Melvin” [1953 musical comedy,
directed by Don Weis], a Technicolor feature (film) which is heading for the
Post early in April.
She is one of
Hollywood’s Cinderellas. In high school she never was able to get into
dramatics, but, after she showed off her singing, dancing and impersonations at
Metro, she was shot into stardom. Since she entered the studio in 1949, she has
appeared in sic pictures. Her last was “Singing in the
Rain” [1952 musical comedy, directed by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly].
