A recent
advertisement in the Rome Daily American
momentarily interrupted the flow of la
dolce vita with the announcement that the Trevi Palace, which forms the integral backdrop for Anita Ekberg's
more famous, “three-coins-in-the” fountain, is up for sale.
The fountain
palace was designed in 1735 for Pope Clement XII by Niccolo Salvi, but was not
completed until 1772. But let the ad speak for itself.
