Zeugers

A notorious blonde Dutch traitress, who staged orgies for the Nazis, has been captured in liberated Maastricht.

She is Aldegonda Zeugers, a beautiful 33-year-old woman, who betrayed two Dutch underground leaders to the Gestapo.

When her husband was sent to a concentration camp she became the mistress of Major Strobel, who, as commandant of Maastricht, supervised the torturing of local Dutch patriots.

She appeared in night clubs gorgeously gowned, and spent money lavishly. She held wild parties at her home, at which the guests were mostly German officials.

Zeugers accepted money from the Dutch underground, promising to obtain the release of captured Patriots, but instead she betrayed them to the Gestapo.

Testimony 20 years later shows that the SS (Elite Guard) woman in Hitler’s Germany often was more brutal than the male – and rarely was brought to justice.

Former concentration camp inmates say the SS women competed with their male comrades in devising tortures and developing unique methods of killing. The pressed to help at mass slaughters of prisoners, often followed by orgies.

Trial testimony pictures them as a cross section of German womanhood girls in their teens, matrons in their 40s and 50s highly educated women, often of noble blood, and women with so little schooling they rarely could scratch out their names on pay chifs.

From Dachau, they were assigned to concentration camps – 250 in Germany and German occupied Europe – to guard female prisoners. They were assisted by German women brought to the camps as civilian functionaries from prisons where they were serving terms for criminals offencers.

Survivors of women’s camps testify that SS women boasted of their ability to exceed each other in cruelty. They competed for the job of helping at mass gassings in order to get extra pay and tobacco and alcohol rations. Many enjoyed killing and torturing prisoners who exceeded them in beauty and intelligence.

Barracks rooms orgies often ended with drunken male and female SS guards forcing half starved prisoners to put on sex shows on improvised stages set up on the tables of SS mess halls. The prisoners “actors” were ivariably killed after their performances.
